Freefly Systems Wave camera is a truly unique compact high speed camera. In a body just a little larger than a mirrorless camera is a global shutter and the ability to shoot up to 420fps in 4K, or 1450fps in 2K.

Many of the complications of previous high speed shooting have been addressed in the wave. Whilst it may not pack the sheer speed of the market leading Phantom 4K, it offers an ease of use unlike anything else on the market.

An internal 2TB SSD is used for capturing 10-bit compressed raw rushes (equivalent to 5:1 ratio) with continuous recording only limited by the SSD capacity. Offload is done via a USB-C superspeed port, with the Freefly Wave utility used for converting these rushes into Cineform or other compressed formats.

Power is via either the internal battery capable of powering the camera for 90 minutes of shooting, or via external 5.5mm barrel jack connector and D-tap. A 98wH miniature v-mount will power the camera for up to four hours in addition to the internal battery.

The camera natively features a Sony E-mount, which can be adapted to almost any mount via the suitable adapter. We have a spacer included in our kit which allows the use of RED DSMC lens mounts with the Wave. We can offer PL mount, EF mount or Nikon F mount in addition to E-mount.

Our rental package also includes a full cage for the camera, allowing the solid attachment of magic arms, rails or a top handle. There is Movi Pro integration with the mounting points, provision for use of the same top handle and also GPIO connectivity, which allows full camera control from 2500ft. away via Movi controller.

In the underwater housing, we use the micro V-mount battery and Ninja V monitor to keep the camera package much smaller than most cinema housings.
